Izzy Boo is going on vacation for the 4th of July!

Our bags are packed, we are ready to go! Be back in a week!! Happy birthday America - and Grandpa! :)

Our trip to Nannie's house!

Izzy Boo and I went up to Decatur, AL for a couple of days to visit with Nannie - my grandmother. This was Izzy Boo's first overnight trip, Elizabeth had a lot of fun once the initial seperation anxiety went away.

Sitting on the bed in our bedroom, my drooly girl!
What'd ya say?!?
Drool. Notice the drool ring around her neck. Nice.
I think this is my new favorite Izzy Boo picture.

Pregnancy Boom at Gloucester High

Interesting, yet sad article from Time Magazine - article

Unconditional love is a big pull and they feel they can get that love from a baby. But, sadly, they have no clue what they are really getting themselves into. Parenting is hard, I know there are days when I feel like I barely have a hold on things and I am soon to be 29. There is no way I could have handled all of the responsiblity as a 16 year old.

It is wonderful that the high school provides child care so young mothers can finish high school, but maybe they need to include some counseling classes on the realities of being a parent. My heart aches for these girls!

Babies are definitely cute and cuddly, but they really don't like to sleep and are kind of expensive too! :) Maybe they should come and get real world experience at my house and get up with Elizabeth 4 times a night.

Elizabeth is 5 months old!!

Elizabeth turned 5 months old on Saturday June 7th!

I can't believe how fast time is flying with my little girl, she is getting so big. It is so much fun to watch her personality develop and see her excitement when she learns a new trick - which she is picking up new tricks pretty fast these days!

She can sit up unassisted now and is starting to scoot around more and more. I think she will be mobile sooner, rather than later.

Here are some pictures of my big girl!

Funny picture from our walk this morning . . .

Yes, that is Sophie. In a stroller.
In the middle of our walk this morning (about a mile from our house and 2 big hills) Sophie started limping. I know I am super talented - but I didn't really think I could handle walking Maggie, pushing the stroller, AND carrying Sophie. As it turns out, there is the perfect Sophie sized spot on the front of our jogging stroller. I didn't really think she would stay there the whole walk back. Oh, she did and she was pretty relaxed the whole way back.
If you are worried about Sophie's foot . . . it seem to be perfectly fine. She has been running around like a crazy dog. I am thinking I was tricked by a 6 pound dog. :)

Cousin Lily comes for a visit!

Last week we had big cousin Lily (6) come and stay with us for a few days. Elizabeth loved having a visitor and I loved having someone else to entertain Miss Izzy Boo! We were VERY busy both days and Lily even spent the night, Elizabeth's first sleep over. :) Here are some pictures of all of the cousinly fun!

Chalky fun on the patio in the backyard, is someone missing from the drawing?

Oh yeah . . .
Elizabeth!

Elizabeth is really cute as a stick figure!

Now it's complete! Well . . . Bryan isn't included, according to Lily, he wasn't home therefore he isn't in the picture!

Lily showing off her masterpiece

And again . . . Lily has a flair for the dramatic - as you will see later!

What Elizabeth was doing during all of the chalky fun.

Now time to decorate the front of the house, more specifically - The driveway

A welcome home sign for Bryan

Elizabeth watching her big cousin - umm, don't mind the weeds.

Cheese!!

Welcome home Bryan

Night time fun, Lily is entertaining Elizabeth

Lily singing - this is the flair for the dramatic I was speaking of earlier!

Cute baby!

More cousin fun!

Our new hobby!

Elizabeth and I have a new hobby, well Elizabeth watches me and my new hobby!

Bread baking!!

This was the first loaf that I made, it is an oatmeal bread. It was really, really good. This loaf didn't last long, I don't think it even made it through the weekend. I am now on the hunt for new breads to make, I think Pita bread is next on the horizon. This week I made all of the bread for our meals.

Oh and her is a picture of my trusty assistant - notice the infamous spoon.
