Elizabeth is 5 months old!!

Elizabeth turned 5 months old on Saturday June 7th!

I can't believe how fast time is flying with my little girl, she is getting so big. It is so much fun to watch her personality develop and see her excitement when she learns a new trick - which she is picking up new tricks pretty fast these days!

She can sit up unassisted now and is starting to scoot around more and more. I think she will be mobile sooner, rather than later.

Here are some pictures of my big girl!

Funny picture from our walk this morning . . .

Yes, that is Sophie. In a stroller.
In the middle of our walk this morning (about a mile from our house and 2 big hills) Sophie started limping. I know I am super talented - but I didn't really think I could handle walking Maggie, pushing the stroller, AND carrying Sophie. As it turns out, there is the perfect Sophie sized spot on the front of our jogging stroller. I didn't really think she would stay there the whole walk back. Oh, she did and she was pretty relaxed the whole way back.
If you are worried about Sophie's foot . . . it seem to be perfectly fine. She has been running around like a crazy dog. I am thinking I was tricked by a 6 pound dog. :)

Cousin Lily comes for a visit!

Last week we had big cousin Lily (6) come and stay with us for a few days. Elizabeth loved having a visitor and I loved having someone else to entertain Miss Izzy Boo! We were VERY busy both days and Lily even spent the night, Elizabeth's first sleep over. :) Here are some pictures of all of the cousinly fun!

Chalky fun on the patio in the backyard, is someone missing from the drawing?

Oh yeah . . .
Elizabeth!

Elizabeth is really cute as a stick figure!

Now it's complete! Well . . . Bryan isn't included, according to Lily, he wasn't home therefore he isn't in the picture!

Lily showing off her masterpiece

And again . . . Lily has a flair for the dramatic - as you will see later!

What Elizabeth was doing during all of the chalky fun.

Now time to decorate the front of the house, more specifically - The driveway

A welcome home sign for Bryan

Elizabeth watching her big cousin - umm, don't mind the weeds.

Night time fun, Lily is entertaining Elizabeth

Cute baby!

More cousin fun!

Our new hobby!

Elizabeth and I have a new hobby, well Elizabeth watches me and my new hobby!

Bread baking!!

This was the first loaf that I made, it is an oatmeal bread. It was really, really good. This loaf didn't last long, I don't think it even made it through the weekend. I am now on the hunt for new breads to make, I think Pita bread is next on the horizon. This week I made all of the bread for our meals.

Oh and her is a picture of my trusty assistant - notice the infamous spoon.

The magic that is breastmilk!

Ok, warning this is a little "out" there. :)

I had never really thought about breastmilk and the things it could be used for other than feeding Elizabeth. That, alone, is fascinating. Something my body produces is the perfect food for my growing girl, very cool. When Elizabeth came down with Pink eye, there were 2 things that concerned me. First, where in the heck did she get pink eye?!? We are really out and about around B'ham a lot. And second, I really wanted to avoid giving her antibiotic drops at her young age. When a doctor suggested putting breastmilk in her eyes it baffled me. And, at first, seemed very odd. You know, that whole putting milk into my daughter's eye thing. Rebecca, my lovely little sister, confirmed that is was a "weird" notion. I knew breastmilk had anti-bacterial properties, but I had never considered using it to "cure" ailments. So we started using the breastmilk at every diaper change and it completely cleared up her pink eye so fast! So I am pretty much a walking pharmacy. :)

Here is a link about all of the other uses for breastmilk, aside from the usual one.

Breastmilk and It's Many Uses

Slackers!!

We here at Izzy Boo have been HUGE slackers! Ok, well, I have been a slacker. :) Elizabeth and I have both had pink eye this week, so we have been a little down and out the last couple of days. I tried putting up a video as an apology, but Blogger isn't liking that idea today. So here are a few pictures instead!! I promise I will be back to regular Izzy Boo blogging ASAP!!

The wild and crazy girl with the wild and crazy hair!

For Grandpa Roy & Jessica, E fighting with Ugly dog wearing her onesie

At times it was hard to tell who was winning the fight - E or Ugly dog.

Oh yeah, that's right. E won.
